For those of you who are struggling with your weight here are 2 magical substances that can have a dramatic effect on you and determine whether or not you burn fat faster and actually keep it off, or hold on to it like it was going out of fashion.

These magical substances, are in fact, nothing new and have been around since the beginning of time. However,people just don’t value their importance like they should. So what are these magical substances? Wait for it…Good old water and fiber. Yep! That’s it. However let me explain why they’re so magical…

We all know that water is important for our health, but even so, the majority of us don’t drink enough of it. It is however vital to burn fat faster and for the maintenance of a lean body. Water has the knack of filling you up and this in turn keeps you from snacking on unhealthy high sugar foods and soft drinks. Oftentimes when we feel we are hungry, we are really just dehydrated. We need water more than we need food.

The body can survive for much longer without food that without water. If you imagine the body as being like a car then water is like the oil in the engine. It plays a role in almost every process the body goes through, from digestion to nutrient absorption. It also keeps your energy level up as it prevents dehydration.

This is the important bit…dehydration will completely kill your chances of burning fat faster. Why? It’s because the body interprets dehydration as a state of shock. The body shifts its focus on the need for getting water and will stop doing other things, such as burning body fat for energy.
Here’s a little trick to help you burn even more calories. When you drink water try and drink it ice cold.

First of all, it seems to taste better than room temperature water, and every time you drink a fluid ounce of ice cold water, your body burns roughly a calorie in the process of warming the water to your current body temperature. Now, just by drinking water you can use this to your advantage and burn even more calories each day.

The other magical substance is Fiber. Fiber ‘bulks’ up, slows digestion and makes you feel fuller. This feeling of fullness is so important in burning fat and reducing cravings for foods loaded with sugar.

Great sources of fiber include various whole grain products, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and beans (even baked beans although their not ideal!). These are foods that are also rich in other important nutrients your body naturally craves.

Watch the processed foods. These are poor sources of fiber. Be careful of White flour which makes up a large part of people’s diets in the form of bread. It also includes regular pasta which surprises many people.Be especially wary of the so called high fiber cereals as many of these contain way too much sugar.

Fiber has also been linked to the prevention of various conditions including heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

I strongly urge you to put water and fiber at the top of your list of things to put in your body. You must re-evaluate your dietry habits and drink more water and eat more fiber. If you combine these two things with a diet of nutrient rich foods and a properly conducted resistance exercise program, you’ll be well on your way to burn fat faster and keep off more fat than you ever thought possible.
